On Friday, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) shared a stern message regarding tensions involving President Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk, or perhaps it was from Grassley's wife.
“I just overheard Barbara Grassley discussing this disagreement and contention. The senator mentioned on the social platform X, famed for his stenography and unique punctuation style.
“I urge you to heed her suggestions,” he added.
Chuck and Barbara Grassley, both 93, have shared 71 years of marriage.
Grassley, who has served over 40 years in the Senate, is the latest politician to ignite a fierce dispute between the president and the tech giant, which escalated into threats and personal insults on Thursday.
The conflict intensified after the Tesla CEO criticized the House GOP’s “big and beautiful” spending package, labeling it “filled with pork” and “unpleasant and hateful,” citing a rise in deficit spending.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t take it anymore,” he posted on Tuesday on his social platform.
This statement came a week following the billionaire’s resignation as a special government official at the White House and his role as chief advisor for Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The legislation narrowly passed through GOP-controlled bodies last month, but tax and expenditure measures are currently under Senate consideration.
On Friday, both Musk and Trump appeared to ease tensions, with Musk noting that Trump “hasn’t even given Elon a thought.”
Musk also seemed to endorse a social media post stating that the two were “strong together.”
