Oklahoma City (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder are set to face the Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic, in Game 7 of the Western Conference semi-finals this Sunday.
The Thunder, who finished the regular season with a league-high 68 victories and secured the top seed, aim to solidify their success with a win. They are determined not to repeat last year’s heartbreak when they lost to Dallas in the same round as the top seed.
This year, the Thunder clinched the NBA title in 2023, defeating the Los Angeles Clippers in a thrilling 7-game first round.
The winner of this matchup will move on to face Minnesota in the Western Conference Finals, starting Tuesday.
Denver’s interim head coach, David Adelman, highlighted Aaron Gordon as a key player during the playoffs. Game time remains uncertain due to a left hamstring injury, and ESPN indicates he is “very unlikely” to play. Gordon is currently listed as questionable on the injury report. He was instrumental in dramatic victories in Game 1, averaging 14.5 points and 9.2 rebounds throughout the series.
