NEW YORK (AP) – ABC News has placed correspondent Terry Moran on suspension following his characterization of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, Stephen Miller, as displaying “world-class disgust” in a now-deleted social media post.
Moran’s remarks were swiftly criticized by officials within the Republican administration, including Vice President J.D. Vance. ABC News issued a statement affirming that the network “upholds the objectivity and fairness of news reporting and will not tolerate subjective personal attacks on individuals.”
The New York-based network has announced that Moran’s suspension will remain in effect pending further review.
Moran, who recently conducted a interview with President Donald Trump, took to X at 12:06 AM on Sunday to express his own “world-class dislike” toward the president, suggesting that this animosity serves a purpose. “And the end is his own glory,” he stated.
Regarding Miller, Moran’s post claimed, “His hatred is his spiritual nourishment. He consumes hatred.”
Vice President Vance criticized Moran’s comments as being “dripping with hatred.” He remarked, “Remember every instance when ABC covers a report about the Trump administration.”
Miller responded, labeling Moran’s “full public meltdown” as a revealing moment for corporate media. “For decades, the elite anchors and reporters who have controlled our media narrative have shown extremism while pretending to be impartial. Terry has discarded his mask.”
