Target Baby Food Recall Due to Lead Contamination

Target Store brand baby food manufacturers are recalling over 25,000 products due to potential high lead levels.

The US Food and Drug Administration reports that Full Selva, based in Miami, initiated a recall in March for items sold at Target, including the Good and Good Pea, Zucchini, and Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree.

The affected packages bear lot number 4167 with an expiration date of December 7th and lot number 4169 with an expiration date of December 9th.

Consumers are advised not to feed these products to their babies.

This recall is classified as Class II, indicating that while it is unlikely to cause serious harm, it may still result in temporary or reversible health issues.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stresses that there is no safe level of lead exposure for children. Exposure to heavy metals can lead to developmental and cognitive impairments.
