Realistic digital triceratops and spinosaurus feature prominently in “Walking With Dinosaurs,” a fresh take on the iconic series paired with Benson Boone’s follow-up album, “American Heart.” I moved closer to the device near you.

Moreover, as highlighted by the Associated Press, there are streaming offerings worthy of your attention, such as a documentary on “The Gilded Age” and “Tron: Catalyst,” a video game inspired by the 1982 film “Tron.”

New Movies Streaming June 16th – 22nd

– The documentary by Cristina Costantini, “Sally” (Tuesday on Disney+), highlights the story of the first American woman to fly in space. This portrayal of pioneering NASA astronaut Sally Ride is narrated by her long-term partner, Tam O’Shaughnessy, combining personal insights with archival footage and interviews that reveal the deeper narrative of this American icon amidst widespread sexism.

– “The Ballad of Wallis Island” (Now streaming on Peacock) may have gone unnoticed despite being a standout in early 2025. With its subtle charm set against the Welsh coastline, it focuses on an isolated widow who enlists her favorite band to hire a folk duo, McWyer Mortimer (Tom Basden, Carrie Mulligan). In her review, AP film writer Lindsey Bahr noted, “The film feels like a much-needed balm. Its modest range and light touch evoke the delightful folk songs that fill its soundtrack.”

– While Netflix often showcases older films in its algorithms, it currently hosts a great selection of Alfred Hitchcock movies. This month sees the addition of “Vertigo,” “Rear Window,” “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” “Frenzy,” “The Plot,” and “The Birds,” alongside the already available “Psycho.” Although these films can be found elsewhere, Netflix’s solid mix is likely to introduce Hitchcock’s classics to new audiences, especially with the addition of “Vertigo”

New Music Streaming June 16th – 22nd

– Benson Boone, known for “Beautiful Things,” is set to release his sophomore album, “American Heart,” on Friday, June 20th. His style draws inspiration from the 1970s, post-Harry Styles, appealing to fans of Queen, ELO, and agile pop stars.

– Los Angeles’ Rio Heim returns with “I Quit,” a 15-track collection of danceable bangers that perfectly encapsulates summer vibes. This soft rock pop is a remedy for seasonal sadness, appealing to the Miu Miu crowd.

– Brooklyn-based R&B/Soul artist Yaya Bey will drop “Do It Hare” on Friday, June 20th. This album serves as an intriguing detour for the ever-evolving talent, including “Merlot and Grigio,” featuring Phyllis, and a jazz-influenced track titled “Raisins.”

– Indie fans should check out the New York-based band hotline TNT, who have garnered a following for their shoegaze-inflected pop-punk, appealing to both rock veterans and emo fans. Led by Will Anderson, they’ll release “Raspberry Moon” via Jack White’s Third Man Records on Friday, June 20th. The album is driven by melodic guitar lines.

New Series Streaming June 16th – 22nd

– The series “Walking With Dinosaurs” first premiered in the UK in 1999 and captivated viewers with its special effects and CGI. A fresh iteration, Rethinking “Walking with Dinosaurs”, will debut on PBS alongside the BBC, using the latest technologies to render dinosaurs in even greater realism. The six-episode series is narrated by actor Bertie Carvel and will be available for streaming on PBS platforms starting Monday.

– This week is prime for period dramas. The second season of Apple TV+’s golden age series, “Buccaneers”, returns on Wednesday. This Soapy Period Piece features a star-studded cast, including Christine Froset, Alisha Boe, Josie Tota, and Christina Hendricks, and is based on an unfinished Edith Wharton novel about five American debutantes in London.

– A BritBox original, the 1930s drama “Tonnou”, arrives on Wednesdays too. It tells the true story of the Mitford Sisters, six women from a noble family who garnered attention due to their personal lives and political stances. Bessie Carter, known for her role in “Bridgerton,” portrays Nancy Mitford in this fascinating adaptation.

– A TV adaptation of popular YA novels, “We Were Liars”, will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday. It follows the affluent Sinclair family who have enough secrets to fill their bank accounts. The plot centers around two cousins and a family friend as they spend their summer, becoming entangled in a web of deceit.

– Another dysfunctional family story emerges on Thursday with Netflix’s “Waterfront”, featuring the Buckley family of North Carolina fishermen facing challenges in their declining businesses and the secrets that haunt them. The cast includes Holt McCallany (“MindHunter”), Maria Bello, and Melissa Benoist, along with recurring roles by Topher Grace and Dave Annable.

– The third season of “The Golden Age” premieres this week, continuing Cynthia Nixon’s Ada Forte’s story as she navigates being a widow after a brief marriage, discovering her late husband left her significant wealth, making her the new patriarch of her family. The new season, created by Julian Fellowes, debuts on Sunday, June 22nd.

New Video Games to Play June 16th – 22nd

– The influence of Disney’s film “Tron” extends far beyond the audience who viewed it upon its release in 1982, as its icy neon visions of cyberspace captivated many through its arcade game. Now, Tron: Catalyst puts you in the role of Exo, an advanced computer program in a glitchy electronic realm. To escape a malevolent entity known as Tron: Identity, you must battle malware on your Identity disk or evade it. The game launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, Switch, and PC on Tuesday.
