Marjorie Taylor Greene Vows to Fight Any Trans Woman Trying to Enter Women’s Bathrooms in Congress

Marjorie Taylor Greene is known for her outspoken nature, and her latest remarks are no different.

According to Politico, the Georgia Congresswoman stated she would oppose any transgender woman attempting to use a women’s restroom in the Capitol building. This comment reportedly came during a private House GOP conference meeting, where Greene allegedly said she would physically confront a transgender woman under such circumstances. The remark was made as Congress prepares to welcome its first openly transgender lawmaker in January.

When asked about her comments after the meeting, Greene did not directly confirm the statement but responded, “I shouldn’t have to.” She added, “It’s pretty aggressive for biological men to be invading our spaces.”

Greene also mentioned that House Speaker Mike Johnson supports her stance, asserting that “biological men” should not be allowed to use women’s bathrooms.

Her remarks come ahead of the swearing-in of Sarah McBride, a Delaware State Senator and the first transgender person elected to the House of Representatives. In a video shared on the X platform, Greene clarified she will not recognize McBride as a woman and will use “he/him” pronouns to refer to her.

The debate over transgender bathroom policies in Congress has intensified following the election of Sarah McBride. South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace recently introduced a resolution aimed at barring biological men from using women’s restrooms within the Capitol.

Mace’s resolution seeks to “prohibit members, officers, and employees of the House from using single-sex facilities that do not align with their biological sex.” The resolution also highlights concerns about safety and privacy.

“Allowing biological males into single-sex facilities such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women jeopardizes the safety and dignity of female Members, officers, and employees of the House,” the resolution states.

When questioned by reporters about whether her legislation was targeting the incoming transgender member of Congress, Nancy Mace clarified that her focus was on protecting women as a whole.

“Sarah McBride doesn’t have a say in this,” Mace stated. “This is a biological man attempting to intrude into women’s spaces, and I won’t stand for it.”
