The White House acknowledges Elon Musk’s impact on the federal workforce, yet contends that initiatives to downsize government operations will proceed independently of his involvement.
“We appreciate his contributions,” stated White House reporter Caroline Leavitt to the press. “We are thankful for his departure, and our mission to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse will persist.”
Leavitt mentioned that many of Musk’s associates would transition into roles as political appointees throughout the government, affirming that “Doge’s mission will definitely carry on.” However, Trump has yet to appoint a new director for the initiative.
“The Doge leaders consist of the President’s Cabinet members, including the President himself, who is genuinely devoted to minimizing waste, fraud, and abuse within our government,” Leavitt explained.
Musk expressed skepticism about the efficacy of the White House-endorsed legislation that was approved by the House in truly lowering the federal deficit; Leavitt countered that the bill would ultimately benefit taxpayers.
“The president takes great pride in one magnificent bill and is eager to see it enacted,” she concluded.
