INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Fever star Kate Clark, who is currently dealing with a left quadriceps strain, stated that he will undergo re-evaluation this weekend following Saturday’s matchup against the Chicago Sky.
For the first time, Clark addressed reporters on Thursday. Sustaining an injury occurred when Indiana faced the New York Liberty on May 24th, and she is anticipated to be out for at least two weeks.
“I feel like I’ve made significant progress,” Clark mentioned, noting that her time on the bench provided her with a different perspective on the game.
“I’m not rushing back,” asserted the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. “It’s not worth it, but after this weekend, I’ll be re-evaluated and will have a clearer understanding.”
Clark shared that she was unaware of when the injury transpired during the game, estimating it occurred early on. She experienced pain post-game and underwent an MRI, which revealed “the results I didn’t hope for.”
The Fever recorded a 1-2 record in the three games Clark missed due to her injuries.
She participated in all playoff games last season as well as the first four games of this year, but missed the Indiana’s first preseason game this year.
This season, Clark has been averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 6.0 rebounds.
