Emergency services reported that twenty-seven individuals, including four children, were hospitalized, with two suffering serious injuries. Additionally, twenty more people received treatment at the scene.
Football is rallying around Liverpool, widely acknowledged as England’s most decorated men’s soccer team and a global icon, with messages of support flooding social media from even their biggest rivals.
“Our thoughts are with Liverpool FC and the city of Liverpool after today’s tragic incident,” Manchester United, historically Liverpool’s fiercest competitor, shared on X.
Everton, Liverpool’s nearby rival in Merseyside, echoed a similar sentiment, stating, “Our thoughts are with all those affected by this serious incident in our city.”
The Premier League expressed shock at the “terrifying events” that unfolded at the conclusion of the team’s trophy parade, which saw hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic Liverpool fans waving scarves and flags.
“We are in contact with Liverpool FC and are providing complete support following this serious incident,” the league stated.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino, representing the World Governing Body of Sports, extended prayers and thoughts to everyone affected.

Despite a record of trophies and successes, including a remarkable 20 top-flight English titles and six European cups, Liverpool is also known for its tragedies, having been linked to fatal stadium disasters at Heysel and Hillsborough in the 1980s.
Kenny Dalglish, a former player and manager, referenced Liverpool’s anthem – “You’ll Never Walk Alone” – in his social media thoughts. Posts

A 53-year-old white British man has been arrested and is believed to be the sole individual involved in the incident, with police stating that it is not being treated as a terrorist act. ___
