New York (AP) – Tom Felton, known for his iconic role as Draco Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” films, is stepping back into that character this winter on Broadway in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”
“Being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This opportunity to perform in ‘Cursed Child’ is incredibly exciting for me,” said Felton, now 37, in a statement.
Felton is making his Broadway debut at the Lyric Theater, where he commenced performances on November 11th, and is set to continue through March 22nd, 2026.
In the original books and eight movies, Malfoy was Harry Potter’s adversary. The play takes place 19 years after the storyline of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
This marks the first instance of a cast member from the Harry Potter films transitioning to a stage production.
Felton made his West End debut in 2022 in “2:22 A Ghost Story,” and competed in Gareth Farr’s “Child Science of Science” at Bristol Old Vic in 2024. His film credits include “They Kill You,” featuring Patricia Arquette, and “Fuckham Hall” alongside Damian Lewis.
