CHICAGO (AP) – Chicago Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Vandersloot left Chicago’s 79-52 defeat against Indiana on Saturday night in the first quarter and did not return. The Sky announced on Sunday that Vandersloot underwent an MRI, which confirmed the torn ACL, and she will require surgery for the injury.
The 5-foot-8 point guard averaged 10.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists this season.
Vandersloot was chosen by the Sky as the third overall pick in the 2011 WNBA Draft and played a key role in leading the team to the 2021 championship. She aims to return to Chicago for the upcoming season.
