The Governor of California and the White House have responded regarding their approach to the protests occurring in Los Angeles.
This situation arose when Border Chief Tom Homan cautioned that anyone, including public officials, could face arrest if they obstruct federal immigration operations.
“No one is above the law,” he stated during an appearance on Fox & Friends, although he noted that there were “no discussions” about arresting Newsom.
The California Governor addressed the issue in an interview with MSNBC.
“Come after me and arrest me. Let's see how this tough guy routine plays out,” Newsom remarked.
Trump smirked when questioned about the exchange after arriving at the White House.
“If I were Tom, I would definitely do that. I think it would be fantastic,” Trump stated. “Gavin enjoys the publicity, but I think that would be great. He has performed poorly.”
