Brooklyn, Michigan (AP) – Chase Brisco secured his third consecutive pole, NASCAR – This year, he finished fourth at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.
Brisco, who drives the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, clocked laps at 195.514 mph in a two-mile oval qualifier for the Cup Series, marking the fastest pole-like qualifier since Ryan Briscoe surpassed 200 mph in Texas back in 2018.
He is on the hunt for his first win this year, having achieved five top-five finishes and aiming for the third victory of his career.
“It’s going to take work from the outset, and we’ve managed to do it for three weeks running, but we fell short,” Brisco said. “So, hopefully, the third time will be the charm.”
Kyle Busch in the No. 8 Chevrolet will start in second for Sunday’s Firekeepers Casino 400.
Denny Hamlin in the No. 11 Toyota secured fourth, while the third-placed qualifier, William Byron, will start from 24th.
Tyler Reddick, the defending race champion in the No. 45 Toyota, will begin the 23xi races from 12th position. Sues NASCAR.
