On Wednesday, Trump reinstated a unique policy from his initial term, declaring that individuals from 12 countries will be prohibited from entering the United States, while visitors from seven additional nations will experience restrictions.
The ban is set to commence on Monday at 12:01 am. This timing aims to prevent the chaos seen at airports nationwide in 2017 when similar actions were announced with little notice.
Some of the 12 nations have previously appeared on the list of countries restricted during Trump’s first term. The updated list includes Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.
Restrictions will also tighten for visitors coming from Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
