Cincinnati (AP) — Isaac Collins smashed a three-run homer, while Jackson Chowlio and Dazz Cameron each contributed with two-run blasts, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to their 12th consecutive series win against the Cincinnati Reds with a 9-1 victory on Wednesday.
Reds starter Andrew Abbott (5-1) recorded an impressive 0.55 ERA in May, but the Brewers handed him his first loss of the season.
After retiring the first eight batters, Abbott hit Bryce Tarlan with a double and then scored on a single from Andrew Monasterio, giving the Brewers a 1-0 lead in the third inning.
Two two-run homers from Abbott in the fifth inning increased the score to 3-0. This marked Tulio’s 10th home run of the season.
Cameron’s sixth two-run homer was San Francisco’s first since July 30, 2024. The five runs charged to Abbott were the most he allowed this season, surpassing his previous high of four runs on April 25th.
Collins’ three-run shot, his second of the season, came off Wade Miley in the ninth inning. Miley made his first appearance since signing a one-year deal with the Reds earlier that day, allowing four runs in just two innings.
DL Hall took the mound for the Brewers, giving up only one hit in three innings. Quinn Priest (3-2) allowed one run over five innings to secure the win for Milwaukee.
Important moments
The Reds had a threat with runners on the corners, but failed to score. Hall struck out Santiago Espinal with second and third base occupied, ending the threat alongside Ellie Dela Cruz.
